About our October Coffee of the Month

For the 5th year running, we are proud to showcase the work of the Vides family from Huehuetenango in northern Guatemala.

Displaying signature sweetness and expressive flavour, this is washed Caturra in its most crystalline form.

El Patio is one of 12 farms which form La Bolsa, a 108 hectare estate that represents the hard work and investment of 3 generations of the Vides family.

Established in 1958 by Jorge Vides Molina, today La Bolsa is overseen by Jorge’s daughter Maria Elena and grandson Renardo Ovalle who manages the network of farms throughout the valley while Renardo’s wife, Jacqueline manages the QC lab.

Environmental sustainability and social responsibility are core philosophies at Finca La Bolsa. With Rainforest Alliance certification, membership in the International Women’s Alliance and a founding role in the Coffee Care program, La Bolsa lives and breathes its philosophy with authenticity.

It’s this kind of care and long term thinking that results in a beautiful profile in the cup and the kind of coffee we know you’ll enjoy as much as we do.
