Costa Rica Herbazú

One of our perennial single origin favourites is back, the Costa Rica Herbazú. Roasted to perfectly suit a pour-over or other filter brewing methods. We’re tasting notes of fruit punch, mandarin, lemon soda followed by a vibrant, juicy finish on the palate.

Campos Coffee has no better friend in Costa Rica than Antonio ‘Toño’ Barrantes and a visit to the Herbazú Estate is always a highlight of our year.

Herbazú’s coffee has featured heavily in our Single Origin program over recent years and the latest harvest from Herbazú is tasting better than ever! We’ve hiked the hills with Toño and know his farm intimately and we’re always impressed with Toño’s innovative approach. To cultivate this bean, Toño has adopted a considered nutrition program & precise processing technique to bring new life this SL-28 variety usually only found in Kenya.

Costa Rica is a unique coffee origin because of its own small mills, or ‘micro mills’ where farmers like Toño Barrantes take complete control of their coffee from cultivation right through to milling. With a staunch focus on quality, they have sought to set a new benchmark of excellence by becoming both producers and entrepreneurs. We hope you enjoy this Costa Rican coffee as much as we do!
