Introducing Our 2021 Festive Range

At this time each year, we release something special in time for the festive season. This year we are proud to introduce our annual festive themed bag for the 250g Superior blend and for the first time, the design will adorn every bag of 1kg Superior blend whole beans too. This year’s design is by talented Sydney Inner West illustrator, Ilana Bodenstein.
Meet Ilana
My name is Ilana and I am an illustrator from Sydney’s Inner West.
Before moving to Sydney I spent most of the previous 24 years growing up in the very quiet but beautiful town of Brooklyn on the edge of the Hawkesbury River, population 772. I am obsessed with painting, drawing and camping in remote locations and have been doing all of these things for as long as I can remember.
When Inspiration Sparks
Because I love to experiment, my work is always different and making something is never the same thing twice. Usually though, starting a new project begins with finding an idea I love that has plenty of room to experiment with. Then there’s often a period of music-backed chaos while I play with everything from textas to watercolour to try and shape some new way of crafting something I like, before learning how to re-make that same thing digitally.
Ilana’s Creative Process
For this year’s Christmas design I wanted to cover Campos’ bags with my favorite kind of Xmas decorations. They’re Australia’s strange and beautiful native flowers that I have always seen in the bush throughout our hot summer Christmases. A small reminder of something we need to take care of.
Working with Campos has been an absolute pleasure and always exciting. For someone working as a solo artist, Coffee makes up the moments of my day that I get to share with other people. On any walk in the city or my neighborhood I see Campos Coffee stacked at local cafes, so working with them to make Christmas something brighter after a very long year has been an awesome project to be a part of.
Along with the design, this year we’ve launched a limited edition range of ornaments celebrating our heritage. The ornaments are available for a limited time across 3 distinctive designs being our iconic Newtown café, our distinctive green takeaway cup and for the coffee lovers an espresso group handle. These ornaments are available in selected café partners and also via our online store for a limited time.
Our 2021 design will be available on every 250g bag of Superior Blend and 1kg Superior Blend whole beans bags via our online store and in selected café partners whiles stocks last. Be sure to keep a look out for the design on our Campos coffee cups in selected cafés too!
