Last weekend on International Coffee Day, Campos Coffee won the 2022 Champion Australian Roaster trophy for the second time in a row at the Melbourne Royal Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA).

The AICA is the only international roasting competition in Australia, celebrating excellence and recognising the best roasters from Australia and around the world. These awards are extremely competitive, there were over 700 entries submitted from 174 coffee roasters.

Entries are judged by a panel of knowledgeable industry experts who recognise and celebrate the highest levels of craftsmanship in local and international coffee roasting. The panel includes distinguished roasters, green bean buyers, trainers, and educators working in the specialty coffee scene and submissions are independently judged and awarded.

In addition to taking home the Champion Australian Roaster trophy, we were also awarded the Best Immersion Coffee – Single Origin trophy for an exceptional, yet to be released Colombia Santa Monica coffee. We’re incredibly excited that Santa Monica won Best in Class in its category. This is the first of its kind for our coffee program which we are releasing as the opening instalment of an upcoming ‘Lab Series’ which showcases all things innovative, boundary bending and educational in the world of specialty coffee. We can’t wait to share this with you soon.
